dim sum buffet at cherry garden (oriental hotel)
BUFFET! (i think i got qiling excited just by saying that word haha)
oh man it certainly was a highly anticipated affair. i mean after postponing the buffet outing for like forever, we managed to find time(last sunday) amid our very busy lives to actually book a table.
(actually we could have went for the buffet weeks earlier BUT someone(like maybe WEILUN?) refused to book a table despite me insisting that we would never get to eat there without any reservations. so in the end, it was fully booked! so you see, i' am always right. it's time to start believing in me!)
xinyu and i were late that day(ok what's new? haha) so we (very very tragically) missed out time to eat.
but i must say we really ordered a lot of food. (understatement of the year) we were very tempted to tell the person to just give us everything on the menu. as usual they assigned me the embarrassing task of ordering practically everything?

i think this was some melon soup. it had cute little mushrooms in it.(which lucas loved)

non-stop eating and eating and eating( i think i felt like i was being tortured after the second round of the orders.) the things we do to get our money's worth.

i like the char siew pao! haha

BEEF CUBES. my recommendation of the year. a must try definitely:)

i hated this. think it was some vegetarian dim sum. tried to trick weilun into eating my share. haha

i think weilun burnt his tongue when he ate something hot. haha

lucas found it so amusing he took not one but TWO photos of weilun doing the exact same pose.(waste my camera space!)
anyway i think weilun looks like mr choy over here. although lucas immediately disagreed. i still insist for your information:)

the roasted duck was good. we tried to split the last piece of roasted duck. once again, i was made to do the honours. haha i am glad to say i did not send the meat flying across the room (wouldn't want to live if that happened)
oh and i thought the fish was good as well. don't know why they put tofu in it as well. at first i thought the tofu was fish and i gave it to lucas, telling him it was fish haha!

weilun and his funny expressions
did i mention we ordered so much food, that the person-in-charge came over to inform us that wastage of food would be charged accordingly?

aloe vera and lime i think. very refreshing

OH I LOVED THIS. think it was some almond dessert. lucas and i immediately frowned when we realised it contained almond. but we still tasted it in the end. and i am glad i did because it was so good! couldn't taste the almond at all.( it's a natural reaction for me to throw up if i eat anything that taste remotely like almond). and we splited the tang yuan among the four of us! hahah i was quite shocked that the sesame didn't spill out after lucas and weilun both took a bite.

some mango and lime
that concludes our one and a half hour mad dash of non-stop eating ! xinyu badly needs to train herself to catch up with us though :D
i think towards the end, we were so disgusted by the sheer amount of food that we had to eat. i kept trying to push the food to the guys, claiming that i already ate my share. obviously they didn't fall for it. though i did manage to make lucas eat one of the horrible dim sum stuffed with duck.( i took one bite, gave a disgusted face and threw the 1/4 eaten dim sum to him haha)
and can i say that i am so sick of prawns? prawns were practically in everything we ordered. till this day, i can't look at a prawn without throwing up. seriously.
