Just what makes us(humans) think that we are far more superior than animals? How different are we from people who are racist and sexist(if we think that way)?



it's funny how we condemn the Holocaust whereby approximately 6 million Jewish people were killed and million others had to endure torture and hardship that is beyond anything imaginable. But we think nothing of using animals for entertainment, food, clothing...the Holocaust for the Jewish people might be over but the holocaust for animals is still on-going.



when i say we are "using" them, that's just a very mild way of putting it. i have never really thought of the suffering that animals all over the world have to endure because of human's dominance and selfishness. why is that? i find it inappropriate that we don't even stop and think for awhile that maybe we really need to stop and reconsider what our actions have done to innocent animals. When you go to a supermarket to buy some beef for dinner, do you think about how the cow was killed? do you assume(like i did) that cows were allowed to roam around in a huge open pasturing ground in some valley area and when they are killed, the death was merciful and quick? how do we get the milk? Farmers personally making their way to the cows to hand milk the cows every once in a while? the things we choose to believe or were led to believe just goes to show how naive we all are.

i was very upset and disturbed by what i saw. you will know what i mean when you watch Earthlings. a caution though the following videos are rather gory. definitely not for the faint hearted.

They are participating in some business quiz where the top prize is like $7000. oh man on one hand, i am hoping they come out soon so i can stop waiting, but then again, i want them to win, cause wanzi promised she would treat me to lunch/dinner at Ritz Carlton! such conflicting thoughts.

i have nothing to do now. tried playing with facebook and stalking people on friendster. but seriously there's only this much you can do with facebook and even fewer people you can stalk on friendster. (i don't want to hear the "you bring stalking to a whole new level" comment haha) don't even get me started on reading people's blogs. NO ONE IS UPDATING! i have exhausted all possible things to do online. maybe i should go play some online games. but but i hate playing computer games. very... juvenile.

anyway i shall talk about my week. even though it's only wednesday, you might argue that it's mid-week but hey i only have one more school day, so wednesday is considered as the day before the weekends come. but sadly enough, though friday is supposed to be my day off, i am forced to drag myself to school to you know find my readings photocopy them then squeeze in some time for the filming for my project. seriously when i put it that way, it sounds more exhausting than normal school day. i am digressing. i am supposed to talk about my week and not how horrible the week would end(though actually it wouldn't since i have a sleepover at qiling's from sat to sun and it's always damn fun).

anyway my week. it flew past. that's what i think. don't you find that the days just fly past? i do!(so do my year3 seniors but they claimed i shouldn't be feeling this way when i am only year 1) oh anyway why do everyone think i am year 3? i am only year one and i am only 19 years old. still very young, don't assume that i am older just because i am taller.

ok they are out. doesn't mean they lost though. think there's some break. oh it's dinner break haha

1.my GE2221 project group mates ROCK!
i had such a rolling good time "discussing project"(in actual fact we spent 3/4 of the time gossiping and talking about nonsense!)
oh man they are so hilarious.

i think year three geography major seniors are so damn nice.
maybe i really should transfer to arts

2.oh yesterday, i chatted with guanyou over the phone. it's been ages since i last chatted over the phone with him! and we chatted for ages. i think i only put down the phone at like 2 plus am. we only stopped because he reminded me that i have lessons the next morning at 8am.

3.today i went to have dinner with wanzi! oh i just love her very very much haha!

4.and of course my daily routine of chatting with xinyu over the phone. today we were super animated. life's so interesting!

5.i have many outings to look forward to!

imagine my shock (and ok amusement hahaha)when my project mate told me she analysed the survey results, and saw me being identified as the villain in captain planet!

BUFFET! (i think i got qiling excited just by saying that word haha)

oh man it certainly was a highly anticipated affair. i mean after postponing the buffet outing for like forever, we managed to find time(last sunday) amid our very busy lives to actually book a table.
(actually we could have went for the buffet weeks earlier BUT someone(like maybe WEILUN?) refused to book a table despite me insisting that we would never get to eat there without any reservations. so in the end, it was fully booked! so you see, i' am always right. it's time to start believing in me!)

xinyu and i were late that day(ok what's new? haha) so we (very very tragically) missed out time to eat.
but i must say we really ordered a lot of food. (understatement of the year) we were very tempted to tell the person to just give us everything on the menu. as usual they assigned me the embarrassing task of ordering practically everything?

i think this was some melon soup. it had cute little mushrooms in it.(which lucas loved)






please don't expect me to remember much about anything,
because i would just look at you and say:
"you are talking to someone who recently just completely forgot about a mid-term paper!"

i forgot to blog about my short "gurung guni" stint.
it was a truly comical affair.

think it was two weeks ago? after a movie which was followed by a little shopping(just a little), wanzi and i headed back to her house for dinner. upon reaching her block, i saw this old lady coming out from the lift. and she had with her a trolley of newspapers and a huge mattress. so i went to help her take out everything and try to stop the lift door from closing as well. once everything was out, she thanked us and asked us to help her carry it to her home. she kept saying that her house was just there( she kept pointing to the right). obviously we said sure. so wanzi and i carried the mattress and followed the ah ma.

we stopped ever so often to wait for the ah ma to pick up some stray pieces of paper on the floor. wanzi eventually decided to rest and she started to place the mattress on the ground. this was met by a violent objection from the old lady. She told wanzi not to be lazy and carry it off the ground or else it would get dirty. i bet you are raising your eyebrow just about now haha. and so we never let the mattress down.

we walked a total of about 20 blocks or so? all the while, no one ever came to offer us help. they just kept looking at us thinking we were mad or something. i couldn't stop laughing when we were trying to cross the road while clinging to the mattress. i remembered telling wanzi that at least if a car hit us, the mattress would absorb some of the impact and the car might bounce away or something haha.

along the way, the old lady told us to buy 4D. she kept muttering some number for us to buy and that we should treat her if we really win.

in the end, she brought us to this old van that was really dirty. she nodded for us to throw the mattress in. i was thinking, the ground is way cleaner than the interior of the van. oh well
i wonder what the old lady would have done if she didn't meet us.


Dragged myself to school today since i had already skipped a whole day of school yesterday. woke up and felt like dying but at least i could still breathe. yesterday night i couldn't even breathe. it's been long since i had my (mild) asthma attack. initially my nose was blocked, then gradually something was blocking my airway completely, i couldn't even breathe through my mouth. i started grabbing my dad. but he ignored me! horrible horrible person haha it's so exhausting to be sick. argh.

today jing ling and i had a jolly good time chatting during stats lecture. haha
i enthusiastically told her i was going for dim sum buffet at oriental hotel. she started asking me where was oriental hotel. so i was telling her it was just next to marina square. she told me she only know a pan pacific hotel there. so both of us tried desperately to make each other know which hotel we were talking about. after 15 minutes, i joked that maybe we were talking about the same hotel. we kept quiet for awhile, thinking. and that's when we both turned to each other and said "oh man i think the hotel is pan pacific oriental hotel!" SO we were talking about the same hotel. the funniest thing is that we then started chiding the other about what the hotel should be called.
"oriental!"
"no, pan pacific!"
"ORIENTAL"
"PAN PACIFIC!!!"

so this is how i spend my lectures. talking about food( and arguing basically) :D

xinyu, luc and lun are you guys excited about the long awaited(and delayed and postponed and delayed again)dim sum buffet? i am i am!
xinyu thinks i am way too cool about life. i think she's way too stressed :)

the weekend is here! (fri's considered as weekend since i have no sch :D )


this was qiling's display picture on msn. i was still telling her that it was a damn nice photo, cause it look fairy-tale like and all.
upon closer observation i saw my hair(what used to be my hair that is)! and i realise i really hate myself for doing all kinds of nonsense to my hair!
mind you all these changes all happened in a year (THIS year)
and it's still changing! for someone who hates changes, i find this quite appalling. haha! i think my uni friends must be wondering why i keep changing my hair. They have difficulty keeping up with my changes. sometimes people don't even recognise me!

this was qiling's display picture on msn. i was still telling her that it was a damn nice photo, cause it look fairy-tale like and all.
upon closer observation i saw my hair(what used to be my hair that is)! and i realise i really hate myself for doing all kinds of nonsense to my hair!
mind you all these changes all happened in a year (THIS year)
and it's still changing! for someone who hates changes, i find this quite appalling. haha! i think my uni friends must be wondering why i keep changing my hair. They have difficulty keeping up with my changes. sometimes people don't even recognise me!

memories can be such a painful thing.
it's even worse when your brain only chooses to remember the good times? so now all you can think of are the painfully good memories, which makes it even more difficult than it already is to let it go.
but like what everyone says, what can i do about it?
i can't make the world stop. i can't turn back time. and i certainly can't make things remain the way it is. really. it's funny how so many things have changed these few days.

i like the way there's almost always no one there. well no one comes and bother me anyway. it's quiet. i could just stare at the sky, the field, the track, the traffic, the people...

it's depressing but comforting at the same time.
gives you lots of time to think you know?

today i was there again.
saw this couple walking around and around and around the track. i think they were still walking when i left. and you know what, all the while, they kept holding hands and smiling at each other.
