vacancy!! highly recommended:P i think qiling HATES me for making her watch vacancy instead of her transformer show.haha but we had a good scare what qiling! just a mere 5 minutes into the show and we were already seriously creeped out. (most of the time we were expecting the worst and scaring ourselves) great idea for a movie, but the plot development is seriously lacking in substance. however i still think it's worth a watch. now after watching the show, i keep thinking someone is going to come out of my bathroom and kill me. ![]() morale of the story? never listen to the guys, they make stupid decisions and are usually too egoistic for their own good. @ 8:21 PM
... ![]() ![]() Europe day 2 ![]() on the way to vienna ![]() the majestic palace. it's HUGE. we got to tour some of the rooms which have been preserved. can i say that i felt really weird. as in you keep having this feeling that many many years ago, the royal family is taking the exact same steps that you are taking, walking through the same doors and looking at the very same paintings. it's kind of creepy but enchanting at the same time. i felt that their presence still hangs around because their lives(in the forms of protraits and paintings) are documented in every single room and their personal possessions being displayed. think your backyard is big? THINK AGAIN. ![]() wave! :) or jump:P i happen to like this sight very much![]() ![]() AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! haha i totally don't get this. so am i supposed to paste a photo of my face there or what? what exactly is that in the first place?look---> smart car. parking is much easier with it
![]() ![]() ![]() i think the most memorable thing that i did was to attend a concert there. it wasn't part of the itinerary. we just bought the tickets off the streets of Vienna. and let me tell you, IT WAS FANTASTIC. i think the experience will live with me forever. it's one thing to attend a concert at esplanade but it's another whole new experience to watch a concert in vienna. the thing that surprised me was how small scale the concert was. but it was very very cosy so that was nice. Held in a hall the size of a small school hall, the audience was very near to the performers. i could hear the birds chirping outside, the cool breeze floating in(no need for air-con trust me) and the sky darkening gradually as it approaches 10pm( the day is long in Europe man!). Most importantly, the performance was simply great. i especially love the oprea singing. it was sang with so much passion, it felt real and you just get drawn in:) but i have to admit, i was quite sleepy towards the end. the initial awe fades a little you know haha. you can't blame me, the atmosphere was too comfortable and it was like one mozart song after another. i always feel very sleepy listening to classical songs. ok end of day 2* Monday, July 16, 2007 @ 10:36 AM

europe-day 1 Yes, the europe trip. The one where i travelled halfway across the world with no parental supervision(not mine that is). oh the excitement and the freedom! I reckon that was my first time i had to endure sitting in a fixed position for like 12 hours straight? in a cramped plane seat nonetheless. but i had a great time because of the entertainment (and the food that kept coming). i know i watched a total of three movies and 3 sitcoms and loony toons cartoons(because i wrote them down so that i could remember). Nada Sou Sou was the first movie gwen and i watched together. the movie was nice but it was so draggy and the ending was so absurd that i fell asleep. the terrible thing was that when i woke up, the movie was still on-going, thus you can imagine how draggy it was. after the movie (finally)ended everyone around us had pretty much fallen asleep but i was persistent in not wasting a single minute sleeping, so i continued watching other shows. gwen slept like a pig though. and there was this huge guy behind us who was snoring away as if his life depended on it. After the transit at Istanbul, we took another 2 hours plus flight to Munich. This time, the lousy plane had no individual tv set so i slept. when i woke up, i remembered being greeted by the most amazing sight of my life:) rows and rows of mountains, and they were breathtaking because of the fog surrounding them and the beautiful snow at the peaks that were sparkling like stars in the sunlight. ![]() you know the weather there rocks when you get down the plane and you are instantly hit by the never-ending cool breeze. it's like the whole country is being placed in a air-conditioned room. ![]() Munich just have this very strange(it's not a bad thing) feeling to it. it's like so...european. i mean everything is so different from countries i am familiar with(you know like singapore, hk, tokyo, south korea, malaysia?). from the buildings to the stones that make up the pavement. it exudes a whole new kind of atmosphere or something. pretty fascinating to just stand in the streets and just breathe![]() ![]() they have a BMW muesum. how cool/stupid(depends on how you see it) is that?![]() ![]() ![]() the tour guide says in winter, the whole stretch of lake would be frozen and there would be people ice-skating! this is one of the times i wish i live there.(never mind the fact that i don't even know how to skate) the swans there are huge! and have you ever seen a swan waddling on hard solid ground before? i think the tourists were all very amazed when it swam to the shore and just waddled up. the sky is especially blue, the sun is especially bright, the weather is especially cooling and the flowers are especially vibrant. ahhhhhh what more can you ask for?![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() lunch was good! the setting and the food were just wonderful :) trying to sneak up to the swan haha![]() look! a fortress(at the back)! the very exciting and quite bustling shopping lane. the clothes there? TWO THUMBS UP. this is another one of the times where i wish i live there.gwen and i compiled this list of the TOP TEN MOST COMMON THINGS YOU SEE IN EUROPE. this entry shows you two of them. ice-cream carts and STATUES! statues of everyone and anyone can be found here there everywhere! it can be in gold, copper or brass? not sure. but just know that the whole of europe is sprinkled with them! you get sick of taking photos of statues during like day 3? all right! stay tune for the remaining 8 of the TOP TEN MOST COMMON THINGS YOU SEE IN EUROPE:) |
