Tuesday, June 12, 2007 @ 7:07 PM sleepover Had a wonderful sleepover at qiling's house last friday! initially, it was planned to celebrate jaslyn's birthday but i am not sure why in the end we didn't celebrate jaslyn's birthday at all. BUT still jas you know we love you and HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! Did that choc-stealer qiling returned you the choc that i bought for you yet? if she has not done so, tell me! then i wont buy her anything from Europe! we played around for awhile. you know, doing stupid poses for the camera, making hilarious vidoes(imitating the gatsby commercial). it was pure good fun. one that is typical and uniquely jjqca-ish i love this! so candid:) this photo was artfully taken so as to cut qiling off the photo haha how disgusting! hahaha suddenly the world went mad, and they did poses like this. what inspired them? i have no idea. i seriously think craziness is infectious because i found myself doing the same thing! goodness gracious me. jas placed the glass cover on her head, which after this pic, slipped off her head, banged into mine and sort of hurt jas's head in a way i am not sure of. i think i was telling qiling's mum about the myanmar trippresents from myanmar! sleeping time! it's a sleepover after all:) actually we were all watching a cartoon movie. but then jas fell asleep during disc 1. then qiling fell asleep(not so bad we were watching disc 2). and then i gave up. jj emerged as the most resistant force haha. now we are all wondering what happened in the end but no one bothers to watch the movie again so i guess we'll never know. the next morning... we went to the zoo!(because qiling has work to do) qiling this is the pic you took and you said you love that's all folks! off to europe tml. will be back on 26th june. oh anyway ocean 13 is a damn nice movie. highly recommended! Monday, June 04, 2007 @ 9:23 PM paint a rainbow light up hope you know you have reached myanmar when you see this- Sat 26/05/07 off to collect donations huishan and doreen applying first aidi had such a hard time taking this photo. it's tough balancing the camera with one hand and frantically waving the other(so they would wave back you see) plus i had to keep moving back cause they were converging towards me at high speed! the wooden overhead bridge. i thought it was still under construction, but no this is the real deal. beautiful cityhall Sun 27/5/07 To the zoo! i think this is pretty sad. this batch of orphans don't really smile much for the camera we gathered the orphans into a huge circle. this attracted the public and they came to join the circle as well(much to my amusement) i believe they thought we were doing a public performance. gwen and her group mindy and her group my group. best group ever. i never had to search for them cause they always hang around me. the girl on the left loves to hold my hand. alex and "gf" haha the girl REALLY likes him! she would only throw the ball to him. even when alex already left the game, she would hold on to the ball and wait for alex to come back the LCD dog, it's so skinny it's scary our dinner! the maid there is really a great cook unfortunately, when everyone gathered, there was a blackout, thus the candlelight dinner Mon 28/5/07 double bunks i've heard but triple bunks? emelia and mindy with the kids kids+ huishan kids+alex kids+bernie doreen, huishan ,alex and gwen i like this:) Tues 29/05/07 Colouring session! alex looking awfully suspicious ziyi slacking around as usualemelia shimin chased her to one corner before she would eat. haha then off to dinner treated by khant khant's uncle mindy and doreen gwen and i huishan and khant khant's cousin gwen, me, khant khant's cousin and jeff hahaha so cute! alex, ziyi, jeff and khant khant's adopted cousin alex and ziyi me,doreen, gwen, mindy and the awesome pagoda as background Wed 30/5/07 i carried precious(she's too young to tell me her name so i just call her my precious) till she fell asleep and all the way until we left. She's really such a tiny joy. everytime i carry her, she would bend backwards and i would automatically swing her around. the expression on her face is priceless. her whole face just lights up in amusement and she gurgles away happily. Thurs 31/5/07 emelia's precious and everyone's "king". he doesn't even need to speak, he just points to what he wants and we will get it for him. i think partly why everyone dotes on him is because of his condition. he has some heart condition, hence his heart is always racing and he coughs a lot. he's really cute when he says pia(means yes in a very respectful manner) everytime we call out his name. personally i feel that emelia remind me of him haha one of my favourite photos- a picture of them sharing their food :) on normal days, their food would be just rice and gravy. that's all. as a result, many of them suffer from malnutrition. you can see from the photos that some of them have swollen bellies. when we were there, we donated money so there was additional meat on the menu we had to lift the tables. it's a form of tradition/custom for donors to do that or something . i am not really sure. playing with the toys that we brought for them the naughtiest boy who kept still for one second so i could take a photo of him :) our favourite photo!- emelia's precious, my precious and my little prince charming :)) precious:) finally a picture of khant khant a korean and a burmese volunteers who were also there heh look precious is smiling! that night, doreen's dad's friend treated us to some chinese food at a hotel they have a yellow mini cooper! doreen and mindy! mindy sure can eat! gwen's smiling with her mouth closed because she just ate seaweed haha! the uncle brought us to eat worms(local delicacy) GROSS i repeat GROSS! those sqiurming live worms . they fry them alive and served with salt sprinkled on top. eew mitchell showing off her adventurous side haha Fri 1/6/07 sightseeing! ethnic village(in other words puseudo culture) khant khant's dad's friends treated us to steamboat dinner top: mindy, me, gwen, khant khant's cousin, the auntie who cook and wash our clothes for us!, huishan, mitchell bottom: jeff and ziyi Sat 2/6/07 GOING HOME! rolling stones tee!! that's mitchell btw doreen, gwen, mindy and i went for a massage at thailand airport :D i look very relaxed but i wasn't. don't be deceived i was very much in pain haha gwen and mindy seemed to be enjoying their massage though they even fell asleep! mitchell's wearing the traditional burmese costume oh yea jeff is prom king(i think of nyjc)! jeff, alex, ziyi and shimin shimin and denise bernie, me and denise so there you go, my volunteer trip to myanmar! i must say the whole experience was enlightening and certainly fun-filled(cause of the company of the other volunteers) lots of memories to look back on and of course funny events to laugh about(eg. jeff having a nightmare about alex turning into pillowman, that's a classic man eg2. the orphans pointing at ziyi calling him FAT hahahaha) and i don't know why, the whole trip, the guys just kept asking people to play bridge with them. even during our outings these few days, they still bring along a deck of cards. why i will never know. haha i am finally done, this entry took me 10 whole days! i demand that you scroll up and look at the pictures all over again! and if you wish to see my videos, please ask me for it. :)	Monday, June 25, 2007 @ 5:30 PM welcome home i love it when i see the "welcome home" sign at the airport. :) Wednesday, June 13, 2007 @ 3:59 PM euURROoppe! i am taking the turkey airline to europe. well according to gwen,at least it's not *chicken* airline LOL! :) i am excited EXCITED EXCITED!!! i think i packed way too much stuff into my luggage.
