OH MY GOD! I SCRATCHED MY CAR today! oh my poor baby only nine days old and it has to suffer such DISFIGUREMENT to it's appearance. so what happened was yesterday, my parents were both not at home, so i decided to be an independent girl ( somehow i always feel the need to prove to people that i don't need any body's help, i can do things on my own!!) and drive to qiling's house on my own( and that means without my dad's supervision). everything was fine, i checked the street directory, got a rough idea of how to travel from jurong west to yew tee, and then i was off with the street directory on my lap. i am proud to say that i got there safely. i even managed to park my car without any problems. Later that night after swimming, i drove jaslyn, qiling and JJ to Lot 1 to have our dinner. that ride was rather horrible what with qiling screaming at me constantly and also refusing to cooperate in giving me directions! but nevertheless, we reached and parked safely. i tell you, everything just went very well, it was only this afternoon when i was driving out of qiling's carpark that i met with a situation. let me rephrase that, it should be more of a crisis. i was trying to maneuver my car through this very narrow passageway. honestly, i thought i managed to get through. then, i heard a loud scratching sound. turning to jaslyn(she was my only passenger), "did i just scratched my car?' jaslyn confirmed my worst fears. i think i went mad after that. i got down my car to inspect the damage and to tell you the truth, i was expecting the worst(like a huge scratch right across the length of the car.) at first i couldn't find the scratch, oh man huge sigh of relief at that moment. BUT THEN I SAW IT. right smack below the passenger door but above the wheel. not that obvious but the scratches were there alright. angry lines right across 1/4 of the car with stupid red paint(from the wall on some of the scratches). i just lost the ability to even think at that moment. it was truly an out of body experience. then i think i insisted that jaslyn come down to inspect the scratches. haha but we had to rush back to the car when another car came along( i parked my car which effectively jam the only exit) i had to drive on, but my mind wasn't on the driving. it was actually spinning with thoughts of dad is so going to kill me/ban me from driving or all of the above. in the end, jaslyn and i prayed in the car. i think i felt much better then. i was all ready to tell the truth to my dad when i reached home. but somehow when i saw my dad's face as i parked my car, no words came out of my mouth. i went directly to my room and guess what. I FELL ASLEEP. when i woke up, i saw my dad and he started scolding me about how he saw the scratches and why in the world did i keep quiet about them. but i thought the scoldings were rather mild. my parents even allowed me to drive tonight(we went to watch the movie 881). after the movie, OPERATION SAVE MY BABY was in full force. dad and i went to the hardware store and bought some black spray paint. we spent about 15 minutes to attempt to cover up the imperfections. actually, my dad did most of the work. the result? i thought it was arather uneven spray job BUT who am i to complain? haha my first DIY plastic surgery! (for my car la) i think people should invent botox for cars. you know some injections that can fill up all the scratches on cars. that would be wonderful! |
