there are faces behind those numbers don't you think that news of bombing attacks have become a common sight in our news? death toll rates have since become numbers that blend into the backgrounds, one that does not render a second glance. we have forgotten that behind those numbers are actual human lives. the fact that they are happening so far away from us makes us disconnected from the pain and the suffering. that boy is supposedly only 11 years old? how would you feel if you are his friend or worse, his parents? it's especially disturbing because the child's innocence is in stark contrast to the cruelty displayed by the two men responsible for this. no one deserves this, especially not a young child like him. i just don't understand the motivations behind such terrorist attacks. no political or religious reason can ever justify innocent sufferings and deaths. |
